Gabriel Alonso – Vice President

Gabriel Alonso – Vice President

Gabriel Alonso serves as the Vice President of Perdue Animal Nutrition, where he leverages his extensive expertise in global agribusiness and trading. A native of Brazil, he holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Business Administration and International Business from UniSEB in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil. Before joining the Perdue team, Gabriel spent 17 impactful years at the Louis Dreyfus Company, a global leader in agricultural goods trading and processing. During his tenure there, he ascended through various leadership positions, solidifying his reputation as a seasoned industry veteran. Passionate about team leadership and product innovation, Gabriel has an established track record of guiding teams toward excellence and market differentiation.

Gabriel lives in Maryland with his wife and three children. In his leisure time, he has a keen interest in exploring diverse cultures and new destinations.

Jonas de Souza – Ph.D.

Jonas de Souza – Ph.D.

Jonas de Souza holds a dual role as Perdue Animal Nutrition’s R&D and Tech Services Director and Fatty Acids Product Manager. Born and raised in Brazil, Jonas completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Animal Science at Santa Catarina State University (2011) and the University of Sao Paulo (2014) in Brazil. Jonas completed his Ph.D. at Michigan State University, focusing on the impact of different combinations of fatty acids on dairy cow performance and metabolism. Jonas’s research underlined the importance of the fatty acid profile of diets to optimize animal performance and profitability. Jonas resides in Florida and enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and hiking.

Alissa Moritz – Ph.D.

Alissa Moritz – Ph.D.

Alissa Moritz serves as the Poultry Technical Service Manager at Perdue Animal Nutrition. Born and raised in New Jersey, she received her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Bioscience from the University of Delaware and completed her Ph.D. in Poultry Nutrition at Clemson University. Her research focused on tannin-free grain sorghum as an alternative feed ingredient and its implications on the performance and intestinal health of broilers and quail. In her free time, Alissa enjoys traveling and engaging in outdoor activities, from kayaking and hiking to training for half marathons

Alanna Kmicikewycz – Ph.D.

Alanna Kmicikewycz – Ph.D.

Alanna Kmicikewycz is the Technical Services Manager for Perdue Animal Nutrition. Born and raised in Illinois, Alanna earned her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Following her undergraduate studies, she received her Master’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Minnesota and her Ph.D. in Animal Science from The Pennsylvania State University, both with an emphasis on ruminant nutrition. Her Master’s research focused on nutritional feeding and management strategies to optimize growth and health in dairy calves, and her Ph.D. research focused on forage mitigation methods for subacute ruminal acidosis (SARA) in high producing dairy cattle.

Alanna is passionate about bringing research and innovative feed technologies to the forefront of the dairy industry in order to make a positive and significant impact for dairy cattle and producers alike. She resides in Wisconsin and enjoys spending time with her family, swimming, hiking, and reading.
