Fatty Acids

Perdue Animal Nutrition is committed to created Science Based. Research Driven.® products. Historically, fatty acid products have been based on the most economical byproducts of other industries but with scientific advances Perdue Animal Nutrition has raised the bar! Recent university research has highlighted the role of individual fatty acids in dairy cow nutrition, so we took that research and created fatty acids products designed with the cow in mind.

Palmitic acid is important for butterfat products and rumen bypass oleic acid is important for improving fatty acid digestibility and body weight management. Using this as our basis, we have created blends of palmitic acid and calcium salts of oleic acid to target ratios and fit the needs of the cow, based on level of product and stage of lactation.
